Soar High with These 5 HTTYD Activations

Prepare to fly back to the Isle of Berk when the live action How To Train Your Dragon movie hits cinemas on June 13th. Team OC is excited to high above the clouds, forge new friendships, and save Berk! We’ve compiled a list of fun How to Train Your Dragon activations that Hiccup + Toothless would enjoy!

1. Fan Art 🎨

Ask followers to submit their HTTYD fan art of their favorite characters from the franchise. Create an art wall in your cinema to show off all the amazing art submitted and post your favorites on your cinema’s social media accounts.

2. Cosplay 🎭

Encourage fans to dress as vikings + dragons to bring the spirit of Berk to your cinema! Create a cardboard viking longboat or props from the film to add to the aesthetic of your lobby. Urge moviegoers to take photos and with your props or standees, post to their socials, and tag your cinema! Make sure to repost all your tags, so your followers see the fun!

3. Scavenger Hunt 🔎

Create your own dragon scavenger hunt! Print out photos of the dragons from the film like the Night Fury, Hideous Zippleback, or the Deadly Nadder and hide them around your lobby and concessions area. Invite kiddos (and adults too!) to find all of Hiccup’s friends in the cinema for a small prize (ex. A small wrapped candy, stamp, sticker, etc.).

4. Viking Feast 🛡️

Create your own F+B specials fit for a family of vikings! Collab with a local brewery to promote your signature HTTYD beer. Post to socials with the brewery using the collab feature and send in your emailers, so moviegoers know their favorite beer is featured at your cinema! Or, construct a combo that will feed your own brood of dragons like the “Valhalla” combo that includes hotdogs, popcorn, pizza, candy, and soda! Or concoct a mocktail for kiddos named Dragon’s Brew or Toothless’s Tea.

5. Create Your Own Dragon 🐲

Create an art station in your cinema for kiddos to create their own dragon! Encourage them to make it unique and make up their own name. Take photos and post them to your cinema’s social media accounts!

This fun tale of Hiccup, Toothless, and friends brings back all of the nostalgia! We can’t wait for this fun family film to hit cinemas, so we can revisit these iconic characters. Have fun with these HTTYD activations!
