7 Avatar: Ash and Fire Activations To Set Your Cinema On Fire

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment of the spectacular Avatar series by James Cameron, will return to cinema in just a few weeks. We can’t wait to return to Pandora to see how Jake, Neytiri + their family meet a new Navi tribe fight back against the RDA. 1. Fire and Ash Food Combo 🔥

   
   

Create a fire + ash concessions combo deal. Bundle a soda for “ash” with nachos with jalapeños for “fire.” Encourage fans to mix both for a surprising blast of flavor.

2. Costume Contest 🎟️

Encourage fans to come to the theater dressed as a Na’vi and ask participants to vote on the best costume. Challenge fans to get creative and go all out on their outfits. Gift the winner free tickets for a future film + exclusive merch.

3. Photo Booth 📸

Craft a photo booth in your lobby with blue lighting + Pandora themed props like vines, leaves, and Na’vi ears for moviegoers to use. Encourage guests to post their photos with hashtags and tag your cinema on social media to build engagement.

4. Face Painting Booth  🎨

For a weekend matinee screening, set up blue face painting stations in your lobby before the film for fans to dress up as Na’vi. Rename a blue margarita cocktail to Avatar to excite audiences. This is a cost-effective easy way to engage audiences around this film. Get creative with the naming to excite fans. Both casual and devoted fans will be eager to see how elements from the Avatar movies are incorporated. 

6. Signs 🪧

Create signs with the Papyrus font (famously associated with the Avatar films and parodied in two SNL skits) to hang around your cinema. Create a scavenger hunt for kids, where they can complete a checklist, turn it into a cinema employee, and win a free treat + a glow bracelet.

7. Blue Carpet Screening 🎬

Host a special screening on opening night where influencers + local celebrities follow a theme for their outfits. The Na’Vi wear clothing with beads and vines, so encourage your attendees to wear outfits in line with that theme. Post photos of the event on your social media accounts, tagging the guests, to build engagement.
